The Black Mete Map - V. 2 & Techno-GMing

I still haven't written up the play report for session 3. Not much happened, so I might combine it with the next write-up. I've been playing around with Tiddlywiki this morning, to see how well it will do for organizing my campaign stuff. Berin Kinsman has one, with some sample GM organization tiddler's, to help you find your way around. You can download it and run it from your drive. It doesn't seem to work with Chrome, though. Sham has his tiddlywiki, here, for more ideas. It features his OD&D rules, so downloading that one may be more useful.

Campaign Map, version 2 - PNG. The download link in my box to the left has been updated with the new version. Or, you can click the pic and blow it up, for a better look at the detail. I made a few new icons and fixed the town icon, because it looked like a dude wearing a helmet. 0804 is the Grinning Gryphon Roadside Inn, where the campaign started.

Back in my 3.5 days, I ran just about everything from my laptop. Hell, I had to! I didn't run "adventure paths," so having as much reference material on hand as possible, was handy as all hell.

I've been using the laptop some for my last few LL sessions. Last one, I used physical copies of Kellri's PC Roster Record, ze bulette's Henchman Record and ChicagoWiz's Print-out of the Swords & Wizardry QS, but used my laptop to access pretty much everything else. Except dice, of course. Not using real dice would just feel wrong.

I wasn't planning on using the laptop, but right off the bat, it was just so easy to pull up pdf's, for quick references. Even better, I'd pull up my rulings doc in pdf and grab my physical copy of the AEC, which made it real easy on an occasion or two, when I needed to reference both for the same situation.

I think I'm gonna make a page on the blog, linking anything that might come in handy, during play. Cool random tables and the like.
