A sword, formed a strange, mirror-shiny metal, sporting a hilt wrapped in a weird, black, spongy material, which perfectly shapes itself to its wielder’s grip.

Created by an ancient society of sorcerer-scientists, the sword is an artificial intelligence, produced by both technology and magic.

S-43M’s memory banks, were wiped, thousands of years ago. It remembers very little of its creators and is eager to search for such knowledge. It is a storehouse of information on the subject of war and is well versed in both magic and science. It’s knowledge of human, demi-human and humanoid physiology, matches what one would expect of an advanced civilization. It is even-tempered and approaches its task of killing, in a very business-like fashion. While capable of emotion, such displays will tend to be very cerebral and measured.

The sword seeks stimulation and adventure and so long as these are provided, it will usually be content with its wielder. It is thoroughly amoral, being just as pleased defeating an evil red dragon as it would be slaying a paladin. Its only objection to slaying a village of peasants, would be the lack of challenge involved. Aside from its desire to learn more of its own history, it’s goals tend to be long ranging and often abstract, chosen mainly to alleviate, or stave off, boredom.

Powers: Once per day, the sword may release a stream of invisible, short-lived nano-bots, into the wielder’s bloodstream. These will act like a Ring of Regeneration, save that Fire and Acid are no bar to their abilities. The techno-sorcerous creatures, will remain active for 12 hours, then disintegrate. The sword is capable of self-repair and should any harm befall it, can completely restoring itself, so long as at least 20% of its parts are still present. The sword has the ability to interfere with magical energy and provides 20% MR and a +2 bonus to saves vs. magic. 1/day, the Sword may manifest a Globe of Invulnerability.
