D'oh! Double D'oh!
A few weeks ago, Dan of Sword & Board put out his Sword & Board: A Basic Fantasy Companion. "Cool! I haven't checked out the Basic Fantasy website in a long time. Let's see what they've been up to!"

Sometime before I started doing the news, Basic Fantasy fell off my radar. But Chris Gonnerman and his associates have been quite industrious and there's a ton of support material available for Free Download with frequent updates being made to the BF Downloads page.
So, I determined to start reporting on Basic Fantasy a couple of weeks ago. And, since I didn't make a note of it and there's just not much buzz about the game on the blogs and forums I frequent, promptly forgot. D'oh, Dammit! D'oh!!!
Basic Fantasy is available as a Free Download, or may be purchased in print: $21.98 for the HC, $9.48 for the Perfectbound and $10.98 for the Coil Bound. 159 pages.
The Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game is a rules-light game system based loosely on the d20 SRD v3.5, heavily rewritten with inspiration from early RPG game systems. It is suitable for those who are fans of "old-school" game mechanics. Basic Fantasy RPG is simple enough for children in perhaps second or third grade to play, yet still has enough depth for adults as well.
There's a ton of PDF support material, available for Free. The only other item currently available in print is:Morgansfort: The Western Lands Campaign by Chris Gonnerman. Available as a Free PDF or in print for $7.30. 72 pages.
Morgansfort: The Western Lands Campaign is a campaign module (a group of connected adventures) for the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game. Ian of Magician's Manse is kicking-off a community project: Book of Vile Randomness:
As I briefly mentioned before, I've decided to compile a booklet of random tables created by the Old School community in the same line of thinking as James M's Petty Gods. The working title is Book of Vile Randomness, suggested by DungeonDevil on the ODD74 forum.
The booklet will be released under the Open Gaming License as free PDF. What I need from you all is random tables for submission and to help spread interest by word of mouth [word of blog?]. I know quite a few of you post random tables a little bit more than occasionally, so I'm expecting a decent turnout.
The deadline for submission is May 1, 2011 and there will be no compensation beyond a free PDF.
